Anyone Know Who This Is?
« on: December 02, 2010, 10:56:39 PM »
Digging through some archives and I ran across a set of slides.

The sleeve they were in says "unidentified golfers"....

Do they ring a bell with anyone?

Not sure who they are but I'll tell you one thing, if my man's pants were any higher his belt would be a necklace.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

But it's a good look for a tall and very skinny fellow, isn't it?  The other guy looks like he should be on "Dragnet" -- a law-abiding toughie who's clearly pretty contemptuous of the flimsy pretty boy who just kicked his ass...

Sorry, Brian, we're making a mess of your thread and have added nothing to answer your question.

You've added humor, that's pretty good.....

The tall guy clearly won the match because the other guy doesn't even begin to make eye contact.

Tony:

Come on man, its obvious this gentlemen could not be related to Steve Erkel, he does not suffer from the same congenital eyesight disorder that has afflicted the Erkels for generations.

I suggest we just call these two "High Pockets" and "Meal Ticket."

And I'm done.

Perhaps figuring out where they may have been that day could help. It certainly looks windy, based on the flag, and I'm not sure, but are those palm trees in the distance to the left?

Brian, the golfer on the right might be Billy Joe Patton but I'm not sure.  He was and might still be a shirt out kinda guy!

Some background on where they it was found would help.

It could just be a press photos at the local club for some local event, probably circa 1935-40.
It looks very similar to what I have seen at our local library. They were still out shooting handheld 4x5 press cameras then...

Charlotte area...

As RS III stated, just probably a press photo of a couple of local guys as the images were found in the archives.

However, I also found a set of Sam Snead images by the same photographer but I can't tie them to the same day. I was taking a flier thining maybe these two were shot on the same day as Slammin Sammy and they were lower level touring tours I'm not familiar with. The trees make be think the photos were taken at the same time of the year.

No big deal if no one knows. The replies have kept me in stitches though....!

The guy on the right looks like he just lifted the wallet off of "Pants". It`s clear the shirt not tucked in and the hard ass stare is his look. Even though he is shaking "Pant`s" hand I`m sure he has his toes crossed. He`s no poser.
