The venerable Wilmington Trust bank of Delaware was recently aquired by M&T bank due to massive losses lending to developers in Delaware (I guess on and near the shore). I have never been to Delaware so I just don't know the area. Hopefully the economy gets better there soon. It seems like real estate was over-developed (or was going to be over-developed and stopped due to the economy). Did they overbuild golf courses as well in anticipation of people moving into the new developments? Very sad for all affected.
