If you drive to Greenville, I'd suggest the course at Furman University as fun, very walkable, and a good value.
I played it several times pre-renovation and although it had pretty good bones, the the greens and surrounding areas were always disappointing in terms of conditioning and interest. The recent renovation by Kris Spence remedied that.
Although they're still settling in (read: can be a bit bumpy), the greens now are much more interesting with a Donald Ross-ish feel. And assuming the bermuda is dormant, you should get firm/fast conditions.
