Like all good things, the first time through was a trial run.  The problem has been the level of attention paid.  As those vets of a live fantasy draft know, you sign on for the duration or you take what the database gives you.

My thinking on this one is, when all is said and done, we sit back and admire our lists and do nothing more.  We can't have any "competition" as it would be entirely subjective, based on vacillating criteria (unlike fantasy sports, where unfeeling points win the day!)

The next draft might be 18 rounds long and represent the perfect golf course...that's all we have...fun, not competition.

boys-take a gander thus far-at the risk of sounding cocky I think there's only 1 or 2 of you who stack up to this:

1. MacKenzie - Crystal Downs, Cypress Point, Palmetto
2. Old Tom - prestwick, lahinch, machrihanish
3. Coore/Crenshaw - austin golf club, old sandwich, lost farm
4. Langford- Lawsonia, Skokie, Harrison Hills
5. Doak - Stonewall (old), Rennaisance Club, Stone Eagle
6. Hawtree- Western Gailes, Hillside, Island
7. Alex Russell - Paraparaumu Beach, Royal Melbourne (East), Yarra Yarra

I can tell you that the Palmetto pick in the first round with the first picks is mind-boggling.  Perhaps I'll feel differently next week.  Im also unsure as to whether Palmetto is correctly classified as a MacKenzie considering, from what I understand, his work there is limited to the greens.  Leaving several MacKenzie courses on the board there was a mistake.

I thought grabbing of Baltusrol (Lower) in round 7 was a deal....

JC- I know Palmetto was sketchy, and the pick was rushed somewhat but when you consider where you want to play and not simply the highest ranked courses, although it may be unbelievable I think it's more my kind of place, both in terms of course for my game and club atmosphere, on a day to day basis than say Augusta....

OK, now I read back and saw your post Ben.  I was in bed at a decent hour last night.

I read an email (fwd IM) from Coltrain at sun up that it was my turn, looked at the thread, saw Ron's update immediately above Jim's post that it was my turn, I already had my ready to go picks that weren't yet on the list, there was no danger, so I took the shot.

Sorry I snaked your Sheep Ranch.  You can have it if you really need it.
