As much as anyone likes or dislikes what they have done, the only thing that really matters is where someone is going from here...at least in my opinion.

How do they see the future economic outlook for golf courses impacting design strategies and budgets in the US?

How are they planning on adapting their style if at all?

If they had a site that was 50/50 walkable - would they try to make it walkable or build a "mostly carts course"? :)

Being you are some what of the in house architect at Pine Valley and Augusta National how would you characterize the seemingly divergent work you are doing at those courses?

On average, how many days do you spend on site once you get a commission?

Are you going to spend a lot of time chasing opportunities in China in the coming years?

What is your favorite course built since 1960 by another architect?

Given the pressure on operating budgets at new courses, do you plan to alter your use of bunkers for aesthetic purposes?

Can you talk a little about World Woods and Galloway National which seem to be very different from most of your other courses?

Is the "rees of Tom Fazio" anything like the Duke of Wellington?   ;)

1. What courses and architects have most influenced your work?

2. What courses in the US and overseas would you most like to see and why?

3.  Which actively working architect's work do you admire the most and why?

4. Are there any classic courses that you think should not be lengthened or significantly altered even if it means the course could not host a professional tournament?  If so, which ones and for what reason?

5. Have you heard the "I'm on a Doak" rap and if so what do you think of it?

6. Will the Phillies beat the Dodgers in 5 games or 6 this season?

Have you considerd retiring since the outlook for new courses is so dismal?

If you ask Rees about the 7 acres of greens, then you've also got to ask him about adding thirty bunkers to an already overbunkered course (Oakland Hills).

How much for a Fazio/Jones signature u.s. open home course?  Do you get paid more for consistency in product and development of a "style"?

I would ask Rees why he nver deviates from his style of bunker? What does he see with their style that I don't.

"With all due respect Mr Fazio....can you explain your thinking on the changes made at Oak Hill.
Was it not possible to make those changes without making it so obvious that changes had been made?
The changes cannot by any stretch of the imagination be accused of blending into what is otherwise a wonderful flowing golf course, why was that not easier to achieve?

Ask them if they wished they got on the olympic team bus as quickly as nicklaus.
Ask them if they ever heard of you.   (they may be closet GCAers)

For Rees -

"You've been able to hep many of the country's best golf courses rise in the Top 100 rankings. However, you only have one original design in the Top 100 (Ocean Forest at #91). Meanwhile Doak, Crenshaw/Coore, Kidd, Fazio, Dye, and Nicklaus have all produced multiple Top 100 courses since you've been working. To what do you attribute this disparity?"
