So now that I am back in Palm Desert, CA, practically every golf course out here is in the overseeding process. Don't worry though I got a good 7 rounds in at Stone Eagle before it closed for 40 days. I am making a little trip out to Phoenix for a week to help my mother move into a different place in Scottsdale. Though the Phoenix area has a TON of golf courses, I would say about 80% are still closed during the month of October for overseeding. So I tried to set up some golf in the Phoenix area, but my options were very limited. I called WeKoPa since the Saguaro course was still open, but they don't let any PGA out while they only have one course open, same story with Talking Stick. I wanted to go to Apache Stronghold now that it is open again, but I found out today that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so I will give them another try once they are open on Wednesday. If anyone has played there since it opened up again I would love a little feedback on whether it is worth going out there or not.
So far I have set up this little trip; I will post pictures of each course when I am done playing them.
Tues- Chaparral Pines (I am looking forward the most to this one, I have yet to play a Panks & Graham design and it will be nice playing in the cool weather up in Payson)d
Wed- Legend Trail GC (I have played here before a couple years ago, it is a pretty basic Rees Jones course, but always in good condition)
Thurs- Troon North Pinnacle (I haven't played here yet, a Weiskopf design. I know the Monument gets all the credit, would like to hear people’s opinion on this course if it is any good)
