Daughter Jane has returned from UT Austin to home in New Orleans, but I will most likely be in Houston Feb or March.  Son David and I would love to join an outing then.  They are all here through New Year's.

Thanks for including me in that band of Texicans!

Bill,

Be sure to let me know when you come to town.

Mike,

Same for you...we need to tee it up again.

Steve,

I'll be back into IAH Friday night.  I'm open to play any day but the 31st.

Thanks, Kyle.  Will do.  I need to introduce my son David to you anyway.  He lives in Clear Lake and is an avid player, could be mid single digits if not for that one year old!

Thanks.  Being in Dallas I'm sure I'd not be able to make the 2nd.  Thanks for the invite.  Hopefully I can make one here in the area!

Merry Christmas all....  Actually having a White Christmas here in Dallas!

Any course suggestions up there for spring adventure, when does school schedule let up??

Steve,

3-4 hours to Austin.  5-6 to Houston.  No habla espanol.  Sin embargo, yo querría otro taco de puerco.

And!  I want to set up a group of GCA'ers up for a cold, windy day up at The Rawls sometime in the next couple months.  Just a thought.

 8)  Ben,

Wanted to ask you.. is that Athens in GA or OH or Greece?

Noted that TD didn't mention the Rawls course on his top 10 list of decade.. but we'd be game (Ms Sheila & I).. I think flying up there may be most appropriate..  to catch some good weather this spring..

Steve,

I think Tom's list is safe from much scrutiny in these waters.  But from Adam Clayman's opinion here on the site somewhere, a dormant Rawls in the low fifties with a two club wind is pretty dang close to heaven.  Then a calzone down near campus at "One Guy from Italy" is nice addition.

I am holding you to it.  It's in my hip pocket for a good weekend.

Oh and that term you ask about--for the unwashed--is spoken by the stadium announcer on a crisp fall afternoon between the hedges in Athens, GEORGIA.

Merry Christmas to all Texas GCAers.  I agree Mike, it was great to have a White Christmas in Dallas
this year.  I would love to make it to this event if for no other reason than getting a chance to watch
Kyle's smooth putting stroke.  I won't know until mid next week whether I can make it.  This is a great
Idea that hopefully becomes a regular thing.

I am no longer at Traditions Club in Bryan but at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland.  I have not met very many GCAers but look forward to any outing we can put together.  Memorial and Wildcat are not very far for me.  Keep me in the loop.

Steve,
My 16 year old son, Ryan, and I are headed to the Texans-Patriots game on the 3rd and we may just head up a day early and play some golf with you all if you have room. It'll make it easier to get into the tailgating lots right as the gates open if we're already in town  :P

I'll know better by Wed and confirm then. Hope we can make it happen.

 8) Carter, Don,

Thanks for checking in, looking to play in central Houston to get the most folks to attend.  I'll be checking tee times and trying to get two-three slots together today.  Venue still open..

Carter, are you working at or just playing at Golfcrest?  I haven't played there since the 90's with a member named Bob Allen, some wild mens golf on Saturday AM's..

Don, if you're coming to town there's room for you and Ryan.. you may like to play Wildcat so you can get a good look at the Texans Stadium'.. fade off the box to the dome!

Sam M, Casey W. what's happening at HMR?  CAN YOU COME OUT AND PLAY?

Count me among the Texans who would like to join an outing.  Parents live in Houston and we're going to be down there for the post-Christmas period.  However, we're planning to drive back to Dallas on the 31st.

I'd be willing to coordinate a splinter group in Dallas in late January if anyone is interested.

Steve,

I am the Golf Course Superintendent at Golfcrest CC.  I guess you could say some things have changed since the 90's with the course renovated in '07 ,but still have some fun groups on Saturday mornings.

Sounds like fun, gents. Unfortunately, I am heading out to San Fran for some work/golf next weekend. Drink a few for me and hit em straight.
Fare and be well now, let your life proceed by its own design.

Bill,

My experience is that by Valentines Day, weather is spring like almost certainly, so if we wanted to wait a month, I would be good for that, too.
