ROUNDSCAPES-The future of golf visulation technology
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:29:47 PM »
Just thought if you haven't heard of ROUNDSCAPES I would pass on the link.

http://www.roundscapes.com/index.php

We have recently hired them to photograph Ballyhack and it is amazing what they do.

This takes "virtual" to a new standard.  I understand there are only about ten of these highly specialized cameras in private hands, the rest are military applications.

Go to the website and try the demos (you can even go up, and over your head).  Just imagine the uses.

Truly cool. Enjoy!!

Lester

Lester,

I was looking at Roundscapes just a couple weeks ago.  They have a really nice high end cam technology and you should look at the virtual tour they created for Sutton Bay on the website.  It is hole-by-hole and you get a very clean perspective of the golf hole and the surrounding landscape.

I tried to contact them through their website and I am still waiting on someone to get back to me about Rarity Mountain.  Please send me the contact # for your contact so I can call them directly and get some pricing.

The announcer sounds tin-ey....and, he uses the word "brand" which always, always scares me! I recently viewed this camera system and was blown away. I am sure it has a value with the right project...but the announcer has to go !

Forrest,

Are you at liberty to discuss the other system you saw?  Is there a link?

Lester — I edited my post to reflect my error...turns out that Roundscapes is the demo I saw recently! My bad. But, as noted...the announcer has to go!   :D

One of the neatest things about this system is the detail and the control — it really is about the closest thing to Virtual Reality that I have seen. Especially if you could control a journey through an environment, cityscape, event, etc.
