After a greens chairman decided that his course needed to have greens stimp at 14, the course threw him off his mower and said, "I think maybe you need a bit of a haircut..."

Poa is insecure and shouts for attention; bentgrass runs quiet and deep;  Bermuda just keeps growing on you; Seashore paspalum can't be stopped, kikuyu just rubs folks the wrong way.

Brad - are you by any chance a big fan of early Simon and Garfunkel? That post had a cadence and style that reminded me of one of Paul's 'light-hearted' numbers...

Oh - it might say: "“You remember the dawn of youth with pleasure and regret its passing; but I remember it like a prisoner who recalls the bars and shackles of his jail”. Not likely, mind you...

This should be on a plaque that can be given to Turf School grads so they can keep it on the wall next to their desks!

Nice job Brad!

Fescue with a British accent.

"I just don't get all this talk about Global Warming, summer's just aren't what they were when I was young."

Peter I'm not really surprised Brad might create an homage to  "At the Zoo", but who'd have guessed Jk would quote Bobby Miller/Ry Cooder?

Well, if things could talk then I'm sure you'd hear
A lot of things to make you cry my dear
Ain't you glad [Ain't you glad]
Oh, ain't you glad [Ain't you glad]
Ain't you glad [Glad]
Glad that things don't talk

Tony -

 :D

"At the Zoo" it is. I would've named it earlier, but I figured it was one of Simon and Garfunkel's, let say, lesser-known numbers...

I'm still stung by a thread of mine that reminded you of the joke with two University dons, "And seventeenthly..."

Cut down on the fertilizer and water, I can't breath down here.

And tell those people to quite lifting me out of my root system with those forks that they call ballmark repair tools.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta
