I've been doing a little research trying to figure out the appeal of Caddyshack and why I am always uncomfortable around the movie's fans. I found this article about Topper Mortimer, who is described as "He’s Topper, a regular guy".

My favorite passage, a prime example of blueblood courtship, is thus..I mean no wonder he quotes Caddyshack: Topper Mortimer met his future wife the winter of his second year at Lawrenceville, when she was in the 12th grade and he was in the 11th. (She’d spent the previous year training at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.) “It was a snowfall and she was walking across the campus with a couple of her friends and I just grabbed her and threw her in a snowbank,” Mr. Mortimer said. “Anyway, that was my approach. She didn’t like it but she was laughing so hard she couldn’t breathe.”
