16 would be a neat drivable par 4. That green and it's surroundings pose a great risk reward coming down the stretch. The finish will be great as I took a look at the back tee on 17 just behind 16 green and if they put a back right pin on that shelf, it will take a great shot to get back there but also a tough hole to putt or chip to if you miss in anywhere.
I also am not sure if the fescue grass will hold up for another 8 years. Until the greens become more lush we can expect green speeds to be around 8-9 on the stimp. Does fescue hold up well to Poa Anna?
I have a few questions to people who have played it. What are your thoughts on the approaches to holes #7 and to #4? #7 has such a steep angle into that green with a very long iron. Certainly something that have never seen in my life. Is that steepness comparable to the approach at ANGC #9? I couldn't imagine what some of the shorter players would hit in there if they played the far back tees.
Hole #4 just seems like no matter what angle you come in at, that massive bunker will be right on our line and the green with the massive slope at the back, doesn't have many flat spots on it.
My last concern is what are they going to do for spectators? TP had grandstands on all of tees and greens and I just can't see many places where grandstands can be put at CB.
From what I remember, Chambers reminds me of Whistling Straits and the PGA obviously had enough room for spectators there so the USGA most have thought about that when choosing CB in 2015.
