There has been some discussion about The Madison Club in La Quinta the last few weeks. The latest Links has an article with some pictures and quite a few factoids. I doubt the online version is out yet, so here are a few tidbits.

-5 million cubic yards of sand moved to create course and shape building lots

-$10 million spent on the trees alone
-total development will cost $200 million
-the usual lakes and water falls
-old style railroad bridge across the ravine
Club amenities
-225 members
-range hand picked so it remains pristine
-valet washes your car inside and out while you play
-pro shop employs a full time tailor and shoemaker
-5th tee “comfort” station includes jerky made from filet mignon, marinated duck and chilled Chardonnay
-10th tee includes a grill with fresh sausage and chicken sandwiches
-13th hole includes a fruit station with fresh local offerings
-17th hole includes a classic lemonade stand making hard or soft beverages
Wow! Not sure what to say. The pictures look like quite a golf course. Just not sure I could play without gorging myself!
