Frank, thank you very much for continuing to expand your impressive web site of photos. I started to view Fancourt, and realized that I won't have enough time to drink it all in, during one session. The photo essays are the closest thing one can get to actually being there to see and play the courses you, Chris, Mark and Jaroen have documented so well.
Having seen Fancourt during the President cup matches, and more so, being able to see contours and details much better in your photos, I am left with real awe at the scope and quality that the course appears to be as a design/build triumph. Much of it reminds me of Arcadia Bluffs, in that there are a series of different style bunker constructions (sod wall, scooped out pits, and the meandering MacKenzie styles). The rumbling and rolling FW contouring is remeniscent of Sand Hills terrain.
I also wonder what the turf species is. I'm assuming Bermuda FWs, and possibly the African Kikuyu grass...
I have to ask (since I have an inordinant fear of snakes) are there serious dangers lurking in that high vegitation?
