I tend to be more competitive than my skill level warrants. I'm no threat to be a regular single-digit handicapper, but I like to approach each shot seriously.
I can play as quickly as needed when the situation demands, but I also enjoy a leisurely paced round. I don't understand all the fuss about getting the round done in less than 3.5 hours. I love to be out on the golf course, particularly when I'm on a golf trip. I don't take golf trips to drink, party, watch sports, or do much else. I take golf trips to be out on the course. I'll play as many rounds as possible in a day, but my goal isn't to finish 18 as quickly as possible. Enjoy the surroundings!
When I play with strangers, I tend to be quiet and focused on my game. People than want to meet a new buddy are likely to be disappointed by their assignment to my group. I try not to be rude, but some people interpret it that way.
I'm sure there are plenty of other things not to like, but I don't need to turn all 1499 of you off with one post!
