As I communicated with Tull, Dana Point may or may not have existed, but if it did, it wasn't for very long. MacKenzie visited the site, and from other reports, Hunter may have been with him, but other visited there too: Max Behr and Billy Bell.
I do know this for a fact, there was a golf club house built, and I have a drawing/image of it that I'll post later when I get home tonight. The site of the golf course was in fact exactly where Tull describes it and one of my failings is that I haven't taken the time in over three years to go over to UCI and go through the two rather large boxes of Woodruff's papers.
