Doesn't Detroit win that race quite handily?

I'm happy to finally get to play Glen Echo this weekend in the Glenwood Cup...A Ryder Cup format between Glen Echo and Norwood Hills.  I love spending time in a happy town.

Never played Plum Hollow near Detroit (I know it is excellent) but with that said...St. Louis has one hell of a bench once you get past the big names.

I'll give the nod to Detroit. (For both golf and the series.)

As a Yankee fan, it's been a less than successful post season, but the 27th World Series is always the most difficult to win. ;)

You might as well post this next year if they keep A-Rod. That man is a Jonah as well as post season dud... what did he hit in the ALDS about .118?

Or maybe it's just getting harder to buy a world series...

A team that wins 26 World Series doesn't need fans. It just does it with money. Fans are needed for the franchises that can't get it done.

Paying up helps, but the Yankees counting on old arms to carry them hasn't paid off since 2000. The Mets and Red Sox have a pretty spiffy payroll with not much to show for it. This "buying championships" argument gets a fragile which you consider something like 15 teams had a chance to be in the post season starting September 1, and look who's left standing now? I expect the Yanks to dump ARod and the Big Unit as soon as they can. And does anyone really think Riveria has many years left in his arm?

As a Philly person for 15 years now, I've seen enough these franchises that strive to be "competitive". Give me Steinbrenner anyday ... he make no bones about the fact that he wants to win Championships. ;)

Mayday

Go down to Pine Valley or Philadelphia CC and tell that to Mr Giles.  While you're there thank him for his donation to the Yankees this year.  They will be a great help to us next season while your Phillies manage to possibly entise you into thinking you had a chance.

You're owner and franchise is a bunch of losers because they are not willing to do what is necessary to win.  At least Mr Steinbrenner is not making an ass of himself lately and he ALWAYS tries to give his fans a great product and a winner.  More then 4 million in the seats every year testifies to that fact. How may fans went to your new stadium?

PS- Congratulations to Detroit and St Louis.  Both are great old traditional baseball cities and their fans deserve the world series!

Yeah, dangling the job hopes of your manager for a few days is real classy.

Philadelphia is in the top 10 in attendance, which your Yankees lead with a stadium that holes roughly 16,000 more people.

Kyle

the media did a good job with our manager.  I heard nothing about firing him from management.

So down in Phillie you're content with Top 10.  That's just like the average tour player.  I'll go by % of seats in the park occupied against the Phillies if you want to play that game and I'll bet you the Yankees fill their larger OLD stadium to a higher capacity then you guys fill your new one.

Perenial LOSERS but Mr Giles still makes money so its OK to string along you fans.  I give you credit for going to the park knowing you have almost no hope.

PS- I've played some golf with one of his sons.

Geoff:

As a St. Louis native and a Cards fan, thank you.

It would be great if the inaugural season in new Busch could witness a Cards victory in October.

Go Cards!
