Should Merion be considered Wilson's first solo design...my impression is Merion was a group effort (with Macdonald advising). Is it clear who did what at Alwoodley? Douglas Rolland and Willie Park-II were involved at Rye and Worplesdon. I'm not aware of Fowler getting any help at Walton Heath....although if he had assistance it wouldn't surprise me.

What about Dr. Purves at Sandwich...was that his first design?
