Which course is this? 10
« on: January 23, 2006, 11:39:06 AM »
A gift for all GCAers.  Somewhat further up the coast from its namesake than you might imagine, its namesake still being at war with Russia.  And just to confuse the issue further, the course at its namesake is in another country.  Distances are in yards, the norm for this particular location.

Many GCAers favorite course, and rightly so.  Drove by it just last Saturday.  Mark, I think there has been a formal peace treaty signed in the last few years by the Lord Provost of the Namesake and President Putin, but I could be wrong!

Might one of the holes be named after a military fortification?

No truth to the rumor that a feature that runs through the course was an inspiration for Pink Floyd ...

Rich, 1966 apparently, according to one web site, but it's not mentioned on any of the other web sites I visited to check up the facts - but 1966 is only yesterday to me, very possibly to you, too!

Funny you should ask.  I did stumble upon a couple in the throws of passion one evening.  One can only assume they reached perfection.
