Just arrived back in sunny Fifeshire for THE OPEN after a brief visit to the Country to the south of Scotland.
Played a round at Harry Shapland's Tyneside GC near Newcastle. Short, madly quirky, uphill and down dale, too many trees, BUT a splendidly fun experience.
At a tad over 6000 yards, ye'd think 'easy', but no way! Blind things, daft sidehill fairways, the works.
Painterly positioning of 2nd green in (one of the numerous) valleys:
Fabulous down-and-up Par 5. Not as much carry required as you might think:
Par 3 playing over previous green , a burn AND the next Tee!:
That next Tee playing over the previous Green (whew!):
Fabulous Colt greensite:
Even more fabulous Colt Bunkering:
Splendid wee Par 3 16th - just luvverly!:
Simply one to remind you of one of the primary reasons Golf exists - FUN!
FBD.
