Cattle Trails

I am planning to put some cattle trails at Blackhawk Golf Club in Edmonton to encourage some more walking at our course.  This is also intended to help with the transport of our walk behind mowers tee to tee and keep the public's feet dry in the mornings.(they currently get really wet walking to the fairways).
My question is  How wide should these be?  Do we want them to be wide enough for two people to walk side by side or more like an actual cattle trail where they walk behind each other?
In a situation where the tees do not line up, do you make a path from tee to tee then to the fairway or say....three seperate paths.
Should they be semi-semetrical or consistant?
How short should I mow them?
I am looking for some ideas or pictures from other courses that would help me out.

The best method I've seen is when the step cut 1/2" / mower is used, back of prior green to tee to tee to fairway.  I've seen some cases where the tee boxes are also looped with a step cut as are walk ups, in fact we're experimenting with that look now.  The jury is still out.  Some days it looks classy and others a over the top.  I'll try to get some photos for you.

Unfortunately when I played there last year I rode...
I suggest one person wide, in series is good (one path from multiple tees), and try to put them where they'd like to walk, and not too straight.
There must have been some good ones at whistling straights, I remeber the quasi hidden stairs from the tees more.

I know what Rod would say Jeff.....
" The course should have NO cartpaths with NO carts.  Only the bag on your back with a dozen balls."

BUT....

We need some new ideas to supplement our existing paths and I think cattle trails would be a good idea.  Let me know your thoughts...........or better yet. Make the trip out!
