Too bad the course sucks.

Give me Inniscrone any day over HN.

Nick,
Why does it suck? Save for a couple of throw away holes, I actually like the place.

You know, I'm not the biggest fan of HN either, but c'mon Nick...if you're going to deride a course, at least tell us why??

I'm not sure that hit-and-run posts accomplish much for either the poster or the reader.  They certainly don't teach us anything.   ::)

Okay.  Some specifics:

1. The course lacks a soul.

2. The property is uninspired.  At time the property is too severe (some of the front nine) and at other times featureless (some of the back nine).

3.  You get the sense that the course was a real effort to route, fighting the terrain and layout as you go.  The good courses come across as effortless in this regard.

4. The greens are unimaginative, with the raised shelf in a corner quickly becoming redundant.

5. The name is awful.

Don't be fooled by the attractive bar and restaurant.
