Count me as one who's plumbing would just as soon skip the Indian fare.

You better check with Redan Lady; I have a feeling Ms. Vostinak subsists on a diet of barley, sprouts and tofu.

There is a rumor in Connecticut that Brad is going to be fitted for a Kilt ensemble while in St Andrews.   Don't know if the fitting is going to be secret or not....I am bringing a camera with a long lens.

Be forwarned.

Try to find some good Lamb Dhansak, hot and sweet curry made with lentil beans. It's the first Indian food I ever had that I really, really liked. It blew me away and took three Coca-Colas to get through.

Not low fat, though. Get it with a yoghurt and potato side to offset the richness and spiciness of the Dhansak. I think it's considered Parsi food.

Even more Scottish would be a deep-fried Mars Bar with a shot of heroin and a vodka chaser!

Would that be a "shot" or a "snort?"  ???

I had an Indian girlfriend in my earlier days and that eating was always good.  She made dinner for the two of us most nights....ahh the one that I let slip away...

Sean,

Do you have a spot picked out yet for the Tuesday evening gathering?  Given that those of us from the US are leaving on Saturday at the latest, figured I'd check now to see if you'd made plans.

I've got it narrowed down to 3 places just have to go in and book.   If I don't catch you before you leave then I will let you know the venue at the reception on Monday.

What's wrong with this picture? It takes a pre-meeting (set up by Golfweek, no less) for GCAers to decide where to meet. Talk about enabling dysfunctional behavior. See you Monday so we'll know where to meet Tuesday.

To compare getting GCA'ers to actually do something (collectivley or even individually) to "herding cats" is an insult to both cats and herders.

Good luck, Brad.

Sean,

7pm might be a touch early, as the Vostinaks and I have a 2:50pm tee time at Crail, and Brad & Glen Rapaport tee off at 3:00pm.

Careful there, Brad and Glen might get a bit impatient and pipe a few tee shots into you three!

Take note of the standard delay - if there is anybody else on the course that late - on the third tee.  The rule there is you can't hit from the third tee until the group ahead clears the fourth tee, so it can get pretty congested on that lovely bluff far above the sea.

Have fun - the Balcomie is really a classic!  There may not be a harder par 3 anywhere than #13, although #16 is very strong too.  8)  Actually, that's a very strong set of par 3s - #4, #7, #13, #14, #16, #18.  Downhill #14 is the easiest of the bunch, but not if the wind is up.
