www.spicygolf.com is the home site of Der Spicy Putter!

Wonder if it works with Der CLAW (tm)?

Rich --

I've somehow missed the story behind that picture.

Care to tell it again?

Dan

It was the early 80's and Skibo Castle was up for sale.  Just for fun, I wore my Saudi outfit to the Burghfield House Hotel one night, claiming to be a potential buyer.  A few friends decided that it would be a good idea if I continued the spoof on the golf course the next day.  One of them played in a full kilt, acting as my ghillie; another played in his overalls, acting as my gardener, and the other (a senior offical of the Royal Bank) well, just played himself.

The Club President nearly swallowed his monocle when he caught a glimpse of us on the course.

Ah, those were the days, my friend......... :)

Thanks.

All I can say is:

You appear to have had a swing every bit as good as Kim Jong Il's!

Still have that swing, just not as many holes-in-one as the Great Leader.  Of course, as he is dead, I have a chance of catching up to him....

Please incorporate this map into the site.

I just realized you can convert the map to a sattelite photo.  First time I have gotten to see Fishers Island, which comes through very clearly.

With a great sense of irony, Yahoo's Huckster was the first to place himself on the map.   ;)

I was sure hoping no one would notice that.   ;D

As do I.  13 years of loyalty doesn't go away overnight.  I will always love and defend that great company.

But of course being a Yahoo fits me so well, as my Dad keeps reminding me....

Having written my honors thesis on Gulliver's Travels (and its influence on Joyce's Ulysses) I know of Yahoos, and you are not one, yet, no matter what your father might say....... :)

Rich - my Dad made pains to explain that to me as well - big Gulliver's Travels fan is he.  In fact it was rather funny how he made sure I knew this.  "Thomas, of course you know I mean that in how the term has come to be used today.... the crude unsophisticate part of the term..."

Interesting, I asked our main PR person recently if they ever get Gulliver's Travels inquiries, or if that had any play in selection of the name... the answers are Yes and No....

You know who I'm talking about, Mr Fence-bender!!! ;D

I can look like just about anyone in the right light. Which is why my wife prefers the lights real low.... :)

i agree he does look like Hal in that picture.  there was another thread in which he was compared (in looks) to Reteif Goosen and Lee Westwood without the down's syndrome.

With a great sense of irony, Yahoo's Huckster was the first to place himself on the map.   ;)

In defense of Huck, I was the first name on the list so he felt safe in being the second.    But I subsequently erased my original post so that I could do it again with a picture added.  Unfortunately this thing isnt real user friendly when it comes to any kind of editing.  As the administrator I can erase entries entirely, or delete their picture or phrase only, and that is about it.

So you are safe Huck.

Thanks Turboe, this is a very cool map.  Manged to be the first one for New Zealand.  Could be interesting to see other internationals join in.

I guess I should have put down Mauldin so we are not on the same spot Mike.  Since I really live down here in Mauldin, I am not sure why my address is Greenville.

Rich - Your picture update prompts a couple of questions.

1. Are you in denim (if not totally, at least on the lower half?)?
2. Running shoes?
3. Fore!?!
