The White River runs dark through the heart of the Town,
Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

You're late.  Somebody from California forwarded this to me last night!  As to the substance....

....we are just a village club for village people.....

"mass resignations" . . . "Six members of Aberdour Golf Club's council quit" . . .   "the club captain, vice-captain, treasurer and match secretary all resigned, leaving the club's council without a quorum."

Too bad Alexander Haig isn't a member.  He'd have things under control.

I nominate Sir Richard for Club Czar.

What is it about that "Million" number that always gets bandied about. Why not 375,000?  And why is the course only getting "thousands of pounds" in upgrade while that million goes into a new foyer and toilets?

Richard, can't they just roll the Woodside? Hotel/pub (hope my memory is accurate) down to the course? It's sooo cool. (Though the stained glass may take a beating)

I was there in July 2005 for lunch with Rich and his sprogs, and had a very nice time.  The clubhouse seemed quite appropriate for the club and course.  What gets into people, anyway?

For those of you wanting to learn what life in a typical British village is like, go to www.leagueofgentlemen.co.uk.

Vis a vis Aberdour, as Gloria Gaynor said, "We will survive!"  The hard bit is going to be to try to reach Faulkner's higher standard of prevailing.....
