Augusta National #12 Indoors
« on: March 30, 2007, 01:37:58 PM »
We had our first office putting contest today.  Each participant had to create a hole in their cube.

I chose to honor the beautiful #12 at ANGC with my submission.  I wasn't able to recreate the swirling winds but otherwise I think I did OK.  Note the traditional Sunday pin position.   :)

If you hit it over the green you and up in the trees and have to put standing backwards.  Hitting the ball in the water costs you a one stroke penalty.

FTR -- I made an ace.  Hit it right over the front bunker (bubble wrap) and into the cup!

You sir, are freakishly nuts! May I ask how many participants there were in this contest? I think the over/under is two...

Nice putt, though.

John,

How often, when practicing your putting, do you pass out from visual overload from the carpet pattern?

Brent:  There were a total of 6 different holes constructed.  Mine was the only one that did not include some kind of windmill-esque feature.

We all had to give a quick tour of our hole and explain how to play it.  I saw lots of rolling eyes as I described the architectural nuances of the hole.  :-)

That carpet looks similar to my office and I must say, it has some wicked grain ...

Yep -- the grain is brutal.  To add difficulty, the concrete underneath it has breaks.

Looks like someone forgot to add dye to the water.
Trees & shrubs could use a little fertilizer to help them bloom for next week.   ;D ;D

I do not ever recall seeing anyone make a hole-in-one while I watched on TV - Congratulations.

Ron,

It seems apparent to me that John is going for the "brown is beautiful", firm and fast mode that we often espouse in here.

I think I even heard him mention something about concrete, so I think I'm interpreting his design and maintenance philosophies accurately.  ;)

How did your ball walk on water?

Looks like a lot left to right grain in that green.
