"Nobody is pressing him!"

Lanny Wadkins was saying something like this as Tiger went from 2 down to 3 up. He indicated that no one did anything for two days while Tiger languished.

Was the producer/director asleep? Both Cink and Casey shot 64 on Sat.!!

I seldom watch golf, but Lanny Wadkins and especially Curtis Strange are just dreadful.  Frank Nobilo, Nick Faldo, and Paul Azinger show that a player can do a good job in the booth.  I can't imagine how Wadkins and Strange were selected.  Who got passed over?

what's truly amazing is that guys like Wadkins keep their jobs

I guess I can see hiring the guy, but you'd think that once he's shown he's no good at his job you'd give him the hook, but ....

199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

Yeah but that was Saturday.  Once again, on Sunday no one got the job done.  Never mind Davis Love's predictable performance on the back nine Saturday.

It's good to see that Tom Lehman picked a clutch player like Stewart Cink for the Ryder Cup.

You are right about Lanny Watkins, however.  It's amazing that he gets paid for such drivel!

Howard Cosell has never been more correct, when it comes to Lanny Wadkins. The man is the master of stating the completely obvious and also very good at saying a lot of nothing.

ITS LANNY WADKINS

There is nothing the producer/director can do about it.

He specifically spoke of Saturday as well. I blame the people feeding these guys the information. They should have pointed out to Lanny that the point he was making was not supported by the facts.

With all due respect, I think you're being unfair to Cink here.
Cink was -2 on the last three holes, with Tiger holding the lead.  I'd call that getting it done, at least to some extent.  He hit a 9 iron into the bunker in a driving rain, and lost to a terrific birdie putt by the best player in history on the 4th playoff hole.  All in all, a decent finish

A.G.,

Maybe I am being unfair to Cink, who seems like a decent guy.  However, he had an 8-footer (for par!) to win in the playoff and he missed.  Just once I'd like to see one of these guys finish the deal against Tiger.  Just once!  But they never do.

So by getting the job done, you mean beating Tiger, rather than playing great golf? ;)

The opportunities really do come up so rarely that you'd love to see someone grab it, but just the fact that it happens so infrequently increases the pressure that much more.

He proved again though, that he may open the door, but not for too long.
