Almost as pretty as Longaberger, Jordan. ;D That picture is just not right. I think I would hang em up after playing there. Nothing could compare.

Interesting - and appropriate - that you'd post that picture, Jordan.  Believe it or not, there are wackos - er, I mean participants here - who call that hole no big deal, just a wedge, overrated.

Yep, it's true.

Jordan,

Yes, I can personally attest to exactly how EXCITED Huck gets just standing on that tee!  In fact, I think someone took a picture of him literally bursting with anticipation.  ;D

Whose picture is that, Jordan?

(Oh, and one more matter -- upon which I've resisted commenting all these years ... but now that someone has made it a thread title, I can't resist: Why is it THE frank commentary? Get rid of that THE!)

How about some negative comments on this hole?
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Previously mentioned lack of ground game, over-placed bunkers and it looks like a long walk between holes -- bad routing.

And the water's too blue, so that was probably photo-shopped.

The only thing I'll say about this picture is the long tee you see along the ocean in not from Alister Mackenzie.  It was added I believe in the 1950's.  The Mackenzie tee is barely seen in the shadows between the long tee and the clubhouse (up on the hill by the brown road).   I personally enjoy it more since you are looking down at the green and can see the hole much better.

Jordan  --

Thanks -- but that doesn't answer the question I asked.

I asked whose photograph it was. In other words: Who owns it?

I see now, from checking its Properties (http://www.joanndost.com/com/images/cypress/cpgc_H15_16_17.jpg), that it's Joann Dost's picture. It's her picture -- and her copyright.

I don't mean to pick on you, but I don't think we should be posting professional photographers' pictures here, without their permission.

Perhaps you could send her an e-mail (info@joanndost.com) and ask for her permission?

Who owns the new photo?

Why don't you post one of your own, in the meantime.

Well that's just great, Jordan.  Change the picture, make comments about the first one seem stupid.

BUT.. well... believe it or not there are also some who find THIS HOLE to be not that big of a deal.  In fact a beloved expatriate American in Scotland was once heard to say "no big deal, driver to the right side, ho hum."

You sure can't please everyone.

No hassles man, all in good fun.  I'm just being a smartass anyway.

But it is true that at least one wacko doesn't think much of that hole either....
