I posted this on the 3 x par 5 thread but nobody even tried. I think a lot of people will be surprised at the answer.  3 consecutive par 5’s by one of the all time great dead white guys, but who & where?

Another example the work of a different all time great. This time one hole is all I got of the course before the battery went flat. Not sure if that bunkering work to the left was finished but it sure looked completely out of place last March.  This is the second. Again who and where?

I have posted older versions of this hole before but more might recognise it now.  The bridge was given by a wealthy member of the club in its centenary year and if it’s not obvious from the photo, then yes it’s supposed to look like the famous one.  The Architect of todays course has a strong lineage connection to the other two and as per the other time I posted on this, one of the above may have previously worked on this hole.

Finally the first green is on one course and the second on another. Clue, there is a link to the second question above. Name the two courses.

I'm not fairing too well on these Tony.

3 consecutive par fives! I’ve never even heard of that before. The 6th looks like a J H Taylor or Harry Vardon influence with that cross bunker.

Q2 has got to be St Georges Hill. Is it #2? If it is then we need to set up a public enquiry over that bunker. Surely there should be some sort of architectural listing of the classic courses.

If I’m correct on 2 then I assume #4 is a Colt course but I don’t recognise it.

Congratulations Marc, you are right on Q2 but the clue is leading you to the wrong name on Q4.  You have memorably mentioned the further course in the picture in a previous post.

I was just about to post the exact same. Surely ot would be Prices in the foreground and Royal St. Georges in the background. The flags at RSG are the St George cross.

Problem is I’m sure I recognise the course in #3.

Did I happen to mention that score at Royal St Georges? Really, I had no idea.

To be fair, 72 is 2 over par and we were playing from the white tees which is not the tips and heaven knows how I did it, but it was still far better than any nocturnal activity I ever had with the Ex.

As they’ve all been identified by one person or another (often cryptically) I’ll confirm

Sutton Coldfield is a course By MacKenzie.  It has some nice holes and some lovely bits of Heath but overall it’s a bit of a disappointment probably a Doak 4, but it could have been more.  I’m not sure his plans were ever fully realised.
