Architect in "The Little Vampire"
« on: October 16, 2005, 06:47:31 PM »
I just rented "The Little Vampire," a Halloween movie for my kids which takes place on the coast of Scotland.  The main character’s father is a golf course architect where he's building a course.  There are a couple of scenes with the kid and his dad playing a seaside course.  Anyone seen it and any idea of the course?

A bit of googling (actually yahooing--gotta give Huckaby his due) tells me that the main filming location in Scotland is Culross (pronounced "Coooruss" of course...), which is 15 or so miles from my house, and which has no golf course.  In fact, the nearest seaside course is my own home club, Aberdour.

Great review from the SD Tribune which said:

"This movie badly needs more vampire action or more golf.  Maybe it needs golfing vampires!"

Now if we wanted to re-do the film and cast some golfing vampires, just who would we choose?  Tom Paul, Tom MacWood, Tommy Naccarato and Pat Mucci spring immediately to mind..........

I'm gonna have to get this video!  My 8-year old will love it, and I'll do the detailed GCA research and report back.

Rchi,
I'll do the picture for 4 quarts of blood, nothing less. I also want my own trailer which to relax in between shoots. It must have full internet access. Also, there must not be any garlic anywhere near my trailer or on the set during my scenes.

I was glancing through the TV listings this morning over coffee and saw that it's playing tonight on the Disney channel.  Fairly lame kid's movie but some great Scottish scenery...

Thanks, Brian

Are there any pictures of Culross in the film?  Just wondering.

Mike et. al.

Is this the first film which starred a GCA?  Or do we count "The Fountainhead"--assuming as we must, that Howard Roark was a closet divot head who never had the balls to get out of the big city......... :'(

Way OT: (but not THIS thread!)

The funniest vampire movie ever made was "The Fearless Vampire Killers" by Roman Polanski.  There is a Jewish vampire who is hovering over the sleeping (and succulent) Sharon Tate, who suddenly awakes and thrusts a cross at the vampire.

As the scene fades to darkness, the vampire says, "Hoo boy, have you got the wrong wampire!"

Italian Vampires!

Could be the biggest thing in Italian cinema since the Spaghetti Western.

you can go here to watch the trailer and see pictures I flipped throught the pics but there is not much in the way of being able to tell the course. there is one or two pics with the course in the back ground. good luck.
