In memory of Dickey Betts what are your favorite courses that ramble?  I’ll go with Cleve Hill and Minch Old.

Not my favorite course, but The Gator Creek Golf Club is the site of a humble brag of mine. A handful of years ago I was invited by a friend here in town (Sarasota) to play the course. We get there, hit about 7 putts, declare ourselves ready and then a guy approached and asked us if we'd mind if he and his buddy join our twosome.


"Yeah. Sure. Of course."


The "buddy" was Dickey Betts.

Lots of Rosses and other non-modern courses on gently rolling terrain? 


And conversely, few modern resort and neighborhood courses where golf was the secondary consideration (too hilly, long green-to-tee walks or back from 18 to clubhouse). 


Caddies help but is carrying/pushing required under this definition of rambling (I think it should be).

After reading your opening post, I put "Blue Sky" into the headphones.

I was going to make a joke that my favorite ramblin' courses were Elizabeth Reed Municipal and Blue Sky Country Club.

It turns out there is a Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, FL.  It's an Arnold Palmer design and in the proper region of the country:

I couldn't find an Elizabeth Reed golf course, but it turns out an Elizabeth Reed has a role in the popularization of golf in America.  This golf.com article explains Who Are the Key Figures to Know About?

In my world, Ballyneal is the course that rambles up and down and all around a big park of sand.  Listening to "Blue Sky" required me to wipe my eyes afterwards.  There's nothing quite like "Blue Sky."

I’ll go with Cleve Hill and Minch Old.

Two cracking courses. Perfect for cross-country, ie any tee to any green, golf too.

Way off the radar, except for Canadian's who travel to remote places.
Waskesiu in northern Saskatchewan tumbles and rolls like this all day long.
Lots of blind tee shots due to the odd routing (it wasn't Thompson), but charming to play

Back in the day, seeing Dickie playing that 'ol red guitar (borrowing from CDB) on the summer tour with his band and Marshall Tucker was a rite of passage.
