Does a Scottish bus ride equate to a deal-maker, or a deal-breaker?

Asking for ... no one in particular.

I am visiting St. Andrews for the first time soon!

Of the four courses located nearest to TOC which are most fun to play. Which golf course features the most distinctive (worthy of study) holes?

Thank you!!

Is TOC always closed on Sunday?

Mark

Are so glad you are making the pilgrimage - I am sure you will have a great time.

Definitely walk all around TOC on Sunday - could even do reverse routing perhaps? A great way to see it.

I would say New + Eden are my other favourites there.

I would also go to Golf Museum (behind R&A clubhouse) and pay homage to Old Tom perhaps whilst in the area. It's a great town to walk around.

OK - I've got to ask. If you were really keen - I would try and get to North Berwick about 2.5hrs away via train / bus. I know how much you like studying golf courses and the original Redan is worth the trip alone IMO. You could go via Musselburgh with its golf history and see quite a few other things along the way Edinburgh etc and make a day out of it perhaps?
