There are so many quality photos in the link below it would impossible for me to choose a favorite. A few that stood out to me were Rock Creek Cattle Co., Shoreacres, and Congaree.

What's the point of the two bunkers in the RCCC picture and why are they a highlight?

The bunker closest to the green is well below the green, so you can roll into it if you go long, but you can't see it.  So we built another bunker you COULD see into the slope behind that, to let you know there is trouble lurking.  Sure, it's probably overkill, but if that second bunker never sees any play it probably doesn't require a lot of maintenance, either.

EDIT:  Also of note, they are the only bunkers on a 500+ yard hole.

Thanks, Eric.
I think I'd feel too lonely and isolated playing RC -- just looking at that remote expanse of untamed nature is enough to give me a panic attack. The snug comfy and (relatively) urban confines of Shoreacres, on the other hand, calm me right down and make me feel right at home, comforted by both the 'geometry' of the golf holes and by the fact that I can nip out for an Americano someplace and, at night, head out to a city jazz club an hour or so away instead of being trapped in a log cabin with other golfers, waiting anxiously for the dawn!

Makes me think Congaree is spending some real money on it's bunker maintenance.

I would love to get to Rock Creek someday.

I can’t wait to hang out again at Congaree.

I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Peter,

There are few places in the world I'd rather be stuck at than RCCC.

The course, the setting, the mountains, the outdoors, the service, the serenity... all beyond sublime.  I was fortunate to spend a full day there a number of years back with two rounds wrapped around an excellent lunch in the Lodge.  Felt a bit like like Ray Kinsella's dad in Field of Dreams when he asked "Is this Heaven?"

Different Strokes and all that I guess...

P.S.  I didn't initially recognize that picture of 14 looking back up the fairway, as I couldn't recall those bunkers even being there, but its nothing short of a top notch hole in my mind, even if the 2nd bunker really isn't in play. Perhaps Tom installed em for a secret reverse routing.;)

Regardless of how one feels about the quality of the rankings or whether one cares about them, you gotta give GD props for the quantity and quality of the videos and photos.

I love this picture of 5 at Pine Valley. The hole looks so much better without all the trees.

On that site I have seen bison, moose, elk, and bighorn sheep, and I know they get the occasional cougar but thankfully I've not run into one.  So you'd better stay away!  The elk do the most damage to the golf course.

When I was there my caddy said they had to remove the pins every night because if they didn't the elk would come over and rub up against them and end up damaging the greens.

You initially came in from the right side of the hole and then had to help with a mishap if I am not mistaken. I did get up and down from over the green though. And yes, that was a fantastic day. I am very happy to have gone back three additional times.

That was a great day indeed!  Given I was the short baller in the group, i recall having a blind approach in both rounds, so that sounds right.

P.S. I didn't mention the incident cause what happens at RCCC stays at RCCC.   But it still gives me a chuckle all these years later only cause you turned out alright.  ;)

Why aren't there attributions to the photogs that took the pics? I thought that had become common.
