Have to give huge shout out to this out of the way gem. I happened to have played this course for the first time the day the PGA Junior event was held and during which Sam Snead's record of 63 was broken. Designed by Alex Findlay in 1922 and now owned by Exeter Township outside of Reading, Pa. It is a short course that plays much longer than the card. Classic course that could never be built today. It is just a ton of fun to play. It is a great example of the land dictating design. A number of downhill holes with greens flowing naturally downhill (sloping from front to back) with huge drop offs over the back. On the other hand there are a number of uphill holes with greens flowing naturally from back to front where the adage "don't be above the hole" has to be obeyed or you will see putts rolling steadily off the green and down onto the apron and beyond. The course has plenty of variety and quirk for this crowd.
