I know there are a few who are interested in this course and have been trying to find out a bit about it.
I just came across this aerial, well, small pieces at
www.ukaerialphotos.com that I have managed to put together as one image to show what remained of the course when this was taken, the date given is only 1945-1950, but you can see the new housing eating into the remaining holes.
I have marked Shirley Church Road in red. For those not familiar, it is the eastern boundary of the Old course which still exists at The Addington, with both the 18th and 2nd holes running south along the road, with the clubhouse (marked CH) between them. Everything on the east (the right hand side) of the red line is the New Course. I think I can count nine whole or partial holes.
It's fascination when you look at the current day image below it to see some partial fairway corridors remain open. I'd love to go for a wander and have a look at those areas.
