"Bunker Hill"

In the old 'American Golfer', for some reason, many of the correspondents used pseudos--for example Tillinghast was 'Hazard' and I believe Travis went by 'Far and Sure' occasionally. The writer responsible for New England was 'Bunker Hill'--I believe he was based in Boston. Anyone know who he was?

This was 1910-20ish, so I don't think it was Axland or El Guapo (or Curious JJ).

Boston based? Donny Ross? Herbie Leeds?

I was thinking Ross and Leeds too, but I don't know that much about who was who in Boston at the time. There was a fellow named Wendeler who was well contected with the USGA.

Whoever he was he was well versed on golf architecture, and very familiar with the theories of Fowler and Colt. It would be interesting if it were Ross, because 'Bunker Hill' wrote a monthly column for a number of years.
