My apologies if this has already been posted, I think I was extensive in searching for a mention of it but could not find one.  The course will be closing at the end of the month to make way for housing.

It is one of the few public courses in that area and was some where I felt comfortable playing when I was first getting into the game.

In the works for at least 3 years so it was not unexpected. CS hosted  2 USGA Women's Publinks  and, more importantly, I had my third hole in one there in 2011 on the 3rd hole.  ;D

It is was the scene a few years before that of one of the funniest golf shots I've ever seen hit, this one by my friend Mike Cirba.  I'll let him retell it if he wishes!

Lest we forget, Jeffersonville is probably the nearest and  best public option in the area of Center Square. Westover and Skippack are very close to CS and remain open.

First round I played in PA after being transferred to Chester Cnty in 1972 was at CS. Kept playing there off/on until recently even after joining Chester Valley GC in 80's.
Philly area has always been blessed with great variety of public courses but hard to see any old timer like this bite the housing development bullet.

The only legitimate individual tournament I have ever won in my life was at Center Square in 2005.  I was 17 and shot a 72 first time seeing it.  But I never returned there...still, RIP.
