Dornoch area trip review
« on: August 04, 2018, 02:58:20 PM »
Last week I returned from a trip to the Dornoch area where I played Golspie, Tain, Dornoch Struie, Brora and Royal Dornoch in that order.
I was very lucky with the weather, having only some rain the first two holes of my last round. The rest was played in sunshinewith al little breeze.

Having read some of the how to divide up 10 rounds in a certain area threads, I have been thinking how I would split 10 rounds
if I would be in the area again, which is likely as I really enjoyed the courses.

There are a few angles I have been thinking about:
Holes easiest to remember: Golspie, RD, Brora, Tain Struie
Most links feel: Brora, RD, Struie, Golspie, Tain
Par 3's: Golspie (cool mix), Brora (good mix), RD (good mix, but tough), Tain (nice mix), Struie (nice mix)
Cool holes: Golspie, Brora, RD, Tain, Struie
Least poor holes: RD, Brora, Golspie, Tain, Struie
Views: RD, Golpsie, Brora, Struie, Tain
Atmosphere: RD, Brora, Golspie, Tain, Struie

When I would come to the area having 10 rounds, I would play Tain and Struie as the warm-up rounds  (2)
The remainder of the rounds would have to be split by RD, Golspie and Brora.
I would probably go RD (3), Brora (3) and Golspie (2) as Brora and RD gave me more of a challenge this time round and
I would like to see if I can figure out how to score on all the holes given any wind.

Hi Jan,

it was good to get a game with you at Tain. Glad you enjoyed the golf and the weather.
