Kalen, you are correct that the NFL prospers indirectly from gambling on NFL games, and their rules on reporting injuries are related to gambling.  And yes, they are hypocritical on this issue in regards to not allowing a team to be located in Vegas.  However, it is THE reason LV does not have a team.  Nothing complicated about it.

Greg,

I don't dispute that its the NFLs "stated" reason, its just not the actual reason because its very clear thru their actions that they encourage/want it.

That's all!!  ;D

Getting back to the possibility of Wynn GC becoming NLE, at least I'll have a momento of the course as my daughter bought me a logo hat from the pro shop there.  ;D

For those of you who have played it, is it worth $350 to play it?  (I can get a slight discount.)

I've played almost everything else in Las Vegas and roughly 50 of the top 100 US lists.

Thanks for any suggestions!  (I've played Shadow, Southern Highlands, Cascata, and the normal list.)

I stayed in the Wynn resort about 8 years ago and couldn't resist to play a round of golf. Payed the highest greenfee ever. Things I remember in random order: arboretum with beautiful trees, nice par 3s, cappuccino served on the third holes because clubhouse bar was closed when I teed-off, waterfall at the back of the 18th green, holed bunker shot for birdie on the last with an audience of about 25 people watching. Besides that, no specific recollections regarding course design. Nice, but not worth the money.

If you are staying at the Wynn at $350 it is cheaper than Cascatta figuring in transportation. Coupled with the new Davidoff cigar bar across the street it can make for a nice day with the buds. You're talking about 8 hours of clean fun for around $600 a man allowing for cigars and booze. Worth it, certainly.

The one time I played the Wynn I was comped and loved every minute of it. Sadly it may be the last time until they give in on the new 2x odds craps policy.

More news from Las Vegas, not involving Wynn GC:

Living in Oakland this is quite the news story.  That stadium is 65,000 so it appears it's a different project?  Also considering how Steve Wynn and Sheldon Adelson don't like each other it may be competitive.

It was built with an expiration date. It personified the waste, excess and speciousness of high end resort course development. I liked the DI. Not the Wynn.

Bingo. The DI was a fun course. The Wynn was just opulence. One par 4 under 400 yards? Terrible. Beautiful though.

here is a list of golf course closures in reported in 2017 - https://www.golfadvisor.com/articles/course-closures-2017-17582.htm?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=GVI

Wynn was good for me on occasion as the location downtown was very convenient. Another one listed in the article which was terrifically fun and also convenient is Ocean Links at Amelia Island Fla.
Haven't played since yesterday, not playing until tomorrow, hardly playing at all!
