Yale 8 is a great hole, but as I recall does it require a cut as much as you can tee shot?  Maybe for those that drive it distances I cant imagine, but certainly not for me.

tbe more you cut off the more you risk going in the shit or having to play over the deep left greenside bunkers. If you hit drive straight through the saddle there's a perfect view slot into the green. I thought it was really well done.

How about #5 at Bethpage Black?
Judge Smails: "How do you measure yourself against other golfers?"

Hi Cliff,

What a great hole to find when we first walked the property.   I/we drew a line from the back tee to the green's rear and cleared to it as best possible.  I spent weeks on site marking trees for removal.  Thousands.   Tim

Connecticut National #3.  Tremendous renovation done by Mark Mungeam, but Tim Gerrish , I believe, had major input.  Hole is 389 from blue tees.  About 200 or bit less to sprinkler on right.

Approach

This hole is the poster child for tree removal.  The entire left side was covered with trees.

An update after playing a personal (and site) favorite for the first time in months.

14 at Rustic is a great modern cape hole, and more notably a great modern ball-buster par 4. Played from the back tees it is still driver-long iron for all but the insanely long and rewards accuracy, length, and creativity in great amounts. It's a very bold design as it can play at a full 90 degree dogleg, plus it lays on the ground beautifully.
