thanks for posting. Always horrible to see such things but they are unfortunately part and parcel of golf club life and will pop up now and again. Usually such damage looks worse than it is and greenkeepers are normally able to worl miracles in getting such areas back into play. Hopefully all will be well come the spring and a bit of growth.

I've not seen it first hand as I wont be at the club till this weekend coming, but have seen pictures on facebook from our head green keeper and also some of the photos and images in the media.


Its very frustrating for us golfers but its even worse for the greenstaff who have put in so much hard work getting the greens into such good condition. Just mindless vandalism!


There was a similar incident in the spring last year. The greenstaff worked miracles and within a week it was hardly noticeable, but that was significantly less damage and it was also a time when the grass was growing. At this time of year its going to be months before it recovers I imagine.


I will let you know anything else that I find out...
