Who is best architect if a lot of dirt

 Needs to be moved? Lakes to be relocated?  A flat florida course routed thru housing development wants to be turned into a championship course if possible?

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Tom Fazio has built some pretty nice golf courses by moving lots of dirt.  I'd generally start my list with him.

More specific to your question on the flat FL course through housing...

I thought of the young guys that re-did Wexford (Hilton Head) on behalf of Arnold Palmer design.  I am pretty sure Brandon Johnson was the lead guy there.  They did some really neat stuff at Wexford, and I would consider them as well.

I would say you are not looking for a guy "who can move dirt" but rather one who is 1) OK dealing with existing playing corridors surrounded by housing 2) not afriad to think way outside the box (you do not want anything that remotely resembles the previous course) 3) An artist versus a drafting table guy.

Probably a few of those on here. Kurt Bowman would be a good guy if he were still active in design though you'd definitely need a Keiser to his Doak when it came to green contours. Sorry Kurt! ;)

While Jim Lipe might not fit my above criteria at first blush, left to his own devices I imagine his creativity would shine.  

Sorry - had to plug the boys... they were a good team and good as individuals.

I'd second Brandon Johnson. Not only did he do a great job at Wexford, but also at Old Tabby.
