I waded through a portion of the Moriarty thread on Shinnecock, then determined that all I wanted to do was call attention to this amazing bunker. It sits on the short course at Shinny, adjacent to the 10th fairway and the road/railway. It is so monstrously unique, given the surrounding, bunkerless short course, that I wondered which of the hands that helped carve Shinnecock in its various iterations had it built. Thank goodness it was preserved. A blueish arrow points it out in the lower left.
