Its still fascinating to see rating criteria such as this and compare it to CBM's list of features and their relative importance. Anyway, the idea of visibility being worth 1/5th the "value" of a design is incredible. That someone thought it important to list (and be so weighty) this topic suggests there was a serious "problem" with blind shots. It would be interesting to gain an idea of what percentage of shots were blind pre-1900 and of what type they were. I never got the impression that most courses had a ton of blind shots - especially the championship courses.
