C.H. Alison Prints

If I noted the address correctly, a "for sale" listing of some of C.H. Alison's original architectural prints for Chevy Chase G.C.
are detailed. Pretty intruiging if you ask me. Frankly, I'm surprised that the club hasn't purchased them. I know that I
have never seen any comparable offering before. Has anyone
else?

Check under "Architecture" in the index if you care to.

I stumbled across that a few months ago and found it disturbing. Several years ago I was trying to find out as much as could about Alison and contacted Chevy Chase. I got in touch with the superitendent - who was new and seemed to be a very nice man - he told me they had set of drawings that they were trying identify -- the course has had numerous architects over the years. They suspected it might be Colt's work and they had contacted Hawtree in hopes he might be able to help. But he didn't think they were the work of Colt, although he wasn't sure. I told him he should try Whitten, I'm not sure if he did or not. But he did send me copies of all the drawings, and I told him I thought they might be the work of Alison or Travis, but that was only a guess. I have no idea who at the club is responsible for their sale, but I too think they belong with the club.
