One of my pals alerted me to this wonderful old footage of the now defunct Leven to St Andrews line. Enjoy the authentic music too!

I believe this is the line past Sherringham GC in Norfolk, the course where Joyce Wethered made the famous "What train?" remark after one had puffed by while she was playing a shot -

and, from 50 secs in, a steamer puffing very close-by the 16th tee etc at Aberdovey GC. Imagine the noise and steam present as such a train arrives or departs the station by the Clubhouse. Echo's of travels to/from the course by Bernard Darwin in days gone by.

A photo I came across by accident on the St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum website. I rather like it.
