Tom, Congratulations!

And whilst I am sure it is in your best interests to be diplomatic with regards to the architect that you are replacing, GCA is a place for frank and honest discussion and there should be no problems with describing honestly that you have replaced Hawtree.

(If a few more people were honest about his work, he may not have made it to Australia where his work is best described as ranging from average to very poor.  No other architect gets such a free ride IMO, but that is for another thread).
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

David, YY seem to be happy with his work and he is now the consulting architect at Huntingdale as well. Aside from the ordinary stuff on RME (where Cashmore was involved) has he done much wrong in your eyes?

Shane.

Congratulations Tom, good news.

Shana and David
He is also the consulting architect at Kooyonga and he has recently had to go back and redo the 5th fairway that he had recontoured into a series of moguls, so it would seem that not all of his work has been well received.

How about:  "Tom Doak named as consulting architect to Royal Melbourne"

The journalist in me - never far from the surface - reckons that would only be telling half the story.

Tom

Congratulations - will be interested if any other Australian Mackenzie associated courses follow suit and have you look at them as well.

Thank goodness someone said it.. I was at the club when the first Hawtree changes were implemented on 15e. I was involved in butchering one of the best short par 4's  in Australia, and from the looks of it, everything after that only got worse  :'(

It is your marital obligation to make her understand.

It is her uxorial duty to understand.

Understood?

15E is quite strange and the entire right side of that hole is really like nothing else on either the East or West.
