2010 Courses: Spills & Chills
« on: December 03, 2010, 06:45:38 AM »
I didn't play as many new courses this year as normal, though I don't ever play a lot of new courses as I prefer to use most of my golf budget and time in revisiting courses I admire.

NEW COURSES PLAYED

Coxmoor (winner favourite new play)
Camberley Heath
Reddish Vale
Bulls Bay
Church Stretton (honourable mention favourite new play)
Calderone Farms (winner most disappointing new play)

OLD STANDARDS REVISTED I FOUND MORE TO LIKE ABOUT

Harborne
Southfield (winner best relatively unknown course played in 2010)
Deal
Porthcawl (honourable mention biggest surprise for quality in 2010)
Huntercombe
YHC
University of Michigan (winner biggest surprise for quality in 2010!)

OLD STANDARDS VISITED WHICH SLIPPED A BIT IN MY ESTIMATION

Sandwich (still, winner best course played in 2010)
Addington
Swinley
Formby

COURSES VISITED I WOULD MOST LIKE TO BE A MEMBER OF (but I am not seeking membership even though most would never have me!)

Sandwich
Deal
Huntercombe
Swinley
New Zealand
YHC

Ciao

Sean, in what respect did you feel standards had fallen at Sandwich?

Philip

I don't think standards have changed at Sandwich, its my ideas and opinions that have changed.
