17 miles by Google Maps and 14 miles via helicopter.

20% of my high school lived in Jersey.

I would pick up a scarf at Boyd's for the ride and take the helicopter from Jefferson Hospital. If the chopper is late, I will stop and see the replica  :'( of The Gross Clinic at Jeff Hall.
