were 103 bunkers added at Erin Hills in the last 10 months?

Geoff Shackelford has a story today that states that the new owner is starting to take out some of the 103 that were added...

...can anyone verify that number??
199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

So did I read this correctly...in order to get the course in shape for the 2011 US Am he the owner is planning on keeping the course closed until August 1st, 2010 or maybe even the entire season?

Also, he plans on raising the greens fee to $160 but limiting the course to 4 foursomes an hour?

 ???

Weren't H&F the ones who added them? And they are the ones taking them out?

The Erin Hills saga fascinates me.

I'm gonna start calling it the Michael Jackson of golf courses.

How many times can you tinker with something?
What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

It's a really sad saga IMHO.
I played there in 2008-loved it.
I didn't see anything that needed changing and found the course very naturally refreshing
Sad that people do care where the misguided USGA holds their events.
Would an unworthy champion be crowned if they maintained the Dell hole or #2 and #10 green?
