A slight correction, it is the Pepper Pike Club not the Pepper Pike CC, and IMO it could take some advice from its neighbor Country Club. From the looks of it it appears someone wanted to turn the PPC property into a first class arboretum. If they cleaned that all up the course could be spectacular.

Perhaps. PP has an unusually large ratio of members who also belong to ANGC so perhaps the same arboretum mentality reigns at PP for that reason. Why don't you speak with PP's consulting architect, Brian Huntley, about that? I had a very nice and interesting chat with him yesterday for about an hour, since I thought PP was the course Ran was talking about.  ;) ::)

Back when they were about to launch into that Stinson restoration plan (which I thought looked very good on paper) it was my concern that they were going to get those bunker surrounds a bit too long-grassy and rugged looking which I didn't think would be an appropriate look for CCPP because the over-all aura of the place is pretty clean looking. I think the look of them in those photos is exactly appropriate.

TCC looks fantastic.  I have not played either but a good friend who is very knowledgeable with respect to Cleveland golf puts Kirtland and TCC as 1-2 in the region above Canterbury, Firestone etc.  I have never played there but judging by Ran's photos and those posted of Kirtland today, they look hard to beat.  Can anyone with experience weigh in?

Since TCCPP isn't attempting to recreate "Augusta" look, the bunker edges blend in very nicely with the many natural (fescue?) type areas of the golf course.


Rory:

I would have to agree with Country and Kirtland being #1 & #2 respectively up here in the "North Coast" area.  After that, Canton Brookside would be #3 on my list.
